This targe is based on an original (possibly 17th century) , which is in Inverary Castle, the seat of the Campbells of Argyll. It is very similar to the Macdonald of the Isles targe, but depicts in its centre the Galley of Lorn,which is one of the symbols used by the Campbells at that time.
Although the the original targe has a central spike, I do not include this, as there is a possibility that in could be a later addition.
